How to move regular customers from Pyszne and Wolt to your own site — 7 ways

Ivan Bagno · · 6 min read

You do not have to leave the aggregators. It is enough that customers who already know you start ordering directly — then each of their orders stops costing 13–30% commission.

In short
  • Keep the aggregator for new customers; move regulars to your own site.
  • A concrete benefit works best: first-order discount, points, a lower price on your site.
  • Make it easy: QR code in the bag, link in Google and on Instagram, an SMS after a call.
  • Check your platform contract — some restrict promotional materials in app orders.

Why it pays off

A customer who orders every week through an aggregator costs you a commission on every order. With a 70 zł order and 25% commission that is 17.50 zł a week — about 900 zł a year per regular. On your own site you pay only a flat subscription plus the online payment fee (e.g. BLIK via Stripe: 1.6% + 1 zł).

7 ways

1. A flyer with a QR code in the bag

The simplest and most effective channel: the customer holds the flyer at the moment they are happy with the food. The QR code leads straight to your menu, next to a first-order discount code. Note: some platform contracts restrict promotional materials in app orders — check yours; you can always hand out flyers with pickup and phone orders.

2. A first-order discount on your site

For example −10% with code WITAJ10. The discount costs you a few złoty once; the aggregator commission costs you a dozen every week.

3. A lower price on your site than in the app

Restaurants raise app prices anyway to cover the commission. Just say so: “cheaper on our site”. Even at a 10% lower price you earn more than through the aggregator.

4. Loyalty points only on your site

Points only work where you know the customer — on your own site. A free drink or sauce after a few orders is a small cost and a big reason to come back directly.

5. An “Order online” link in Google

Add a link to your ordering site in your Google Business Profile. A customer searching for your restaurant by name lands with you, not in an app.

6. Instagram and Facebook

Link in bio, a pinned post with a discount code, stories with “only on our site” specials.

7. An SMS after a phone call

When a customer calls and the line is busy or the kitchen is at peak, text them a link to the menu. The site takes the order even when nobody can pick up the phone.

How to check it works

  • Count site orders week by week — growth should be visible within 1–2 months.
  • Use separate discount codes on the flyer, in Google and on Instagram to see which channel works.
  • Watch the share of online payments: in the pizzeria chain from our case study 85% of customers pay online.
